Police Driving Festive Check Stop Program

HandcuffsIt’s that time of year when police are out to make sure you haven’t taken the wheel after pounding back a few bevvies celebrating the holiday season.

The Winnipeg Police Service is set to begin its 2009 Festive Check Stop Program, which aims to reduce the number of impaired drivers on the road.

During the month of December and including New Year’s Eve, motorists can expect to see an increased presence of police officers both during the day and the evening.

A safe alternative is to consider calling Operation Red Nose.

Bottom line: Don’t drive drunk, get home safely.
