U of M Bison Kait Flett has certainly earned her title as Female Athlete of the Week. The women’s basketball player contributed 48 points during two games against B.C. last weekend, helping the Bisons to win both.
The 5’9″ guard — a fifth year athlete — added another 21 points and six rebounds in an 80-57 win over Fraser Valley on January 9.
Head coach Pam Danis is without a doubt impressed with Flett’s performance on the court. “She’s become a leader on our team … she’s definitely established her own leadership style,” Danis told reporters on Tuesday. “She’s pretty demanding and assertive, but in some respects, that’s what this group needs. She’s done a really great job to try and balance her demeanor and her desire to want to excel and get that desire in others.”
The Bisons host Regina on Friday and Saturday with a start time of 6 p.m. both nights at the Investors Group Athletic Centre.
