There’s been another accident on Manitoba roads involving a school bus — this time, in the RM of Taché.
Police say a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am was travelling north on Gendron Road near the intersection of PR 405 at about 9 a.m. Thursday. The male driver attempted to pass a southbound school bus, when he noticed an oncoming northbound school bus. The driver of the Grand Am ended up in the ditch trying to avoid a head-on collision. The southbound school bus was rear-ended by a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado during the commotion, as foggy conditions were present at the time.
The occupants of the Grand Am — a 17-year-old driver and 15-year-old passenger — were not injured. The 53-year-old male driver of the Silverado was not injured, nor were the two teenagers and three adults in the school bus.
The driver of the Grand Am has been charged with passing without having a clear view.
