City Halts Permits for Open Air Burning

The recent dry conditions have forced the City of Winnipeg to not issue permits for open air burning until further notice.

Extremely high potential exists for fires to burn out of control, thus justifying the city’s decision.

Property owners who do burn when a permit would normally be required could face legal action.

Permits are not required for residential back yard fire pits, but property owners are reminded to use caution at this time of year.
