McPhillips Station Casino will soon have a neighbouring hotel adjacent to its property after Manitoba Lotteries purchased the Days Inn.
The development plan will add to the casino’s non-gambling amenities and make it more appealing as a tourist destination.
As part of this initiative, Manitoba Lotteries will be giving consideration to a new hotel to be developed by a private sector operator.
The hotel will no longer be in operation as of September 1, at which time Manitoba Lotteries will receive title of the property.
The corporation and the Days Inn are working together to find employment for the current hotel staff affected by the sale.
Club Regent Casino has its own neighbouring hotel as part of a deal with Canad Inns.
