It’s that time of year again when wine aficionados pop open the bubbly and entertain their taste buds with some of the world’s finest wines.
The 19th Annual International Wine Festival of Manitoba begins today at The Forks.
The three-day non-profit festival runs until Sunday, October 17, showcasing wines from over 250 wineries around the globe.
This year, festival-goers will have the opportunity to sample a wide selection of Cognacs and Grand Marnier and buy what they taste on site.
Fenton’s Wine Merchants will also be operating a version of its store at Centre Court.
The festival will feature live jazz by local artists, and wine experts will be on hand to offer suggestions and help the public discover the ancient art of wine tasting.
Admission to the festival is free and wine tasting tickets are 50 cents each. Net proceeds will be donated to Winnipeg Harvest.
Festival hours are 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight and noon to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
