Transit Dominates Inquiries Made to City’s 311 Service

The city’s 311 service has marked its second anniversary by handling more than 3.6 million inquires in its short lifespan.

The most frequent inquiries are still those surrounding Winnipeg Transit and general bus information, in which 1,042,703 inquires were received between January 16, 2009 and January 16, 2011.

The most frequent request during the fourth quarter (October 1 — December 31, 2010) was again information on transit bus schedules, with 154,530 inquiries.

Recreation and leisure registration took the top spot for the most frequently requested city service with 6,105 inquiries during the same quarter.

Traffic control was 311’s most request self-service request, followed by lost property on transit, snow removal, pothole repair and the 311 customer service satisfaction survey.
