MTS Centre Hosting Wheat Kings Playoff Games

The Brandon Wheat Kings will play their opening round home games of Western Hockey League playoff action at MTS Centre.

It’s the first time in five years the arena has hosted the WHL playoffs.

The Wheat Kings’ first round opponent hasn’t been determined, but the WHL club has announced that games three and four of the best of seven series will be played on Monday and Thursday, March 28 and 31. Should a sixth game be necessary, it will be played on Monday, April 4.

“While disappointed to not have the Keystone available, we are excited about returning to the MTS Centre,” said Wheat Kings’ general manager and head coach Kelly McCrimmon in a release. “Although it has been five years since we last played in Winnipeg, we have enjoyed some very memorable games over the years. Our players will find it very exciting.”

Ticket prices haven’t yet been finalized.
