U of W’s ‘Great Rock Climb’ This Afternoon

By Tyler Sutherland

University of Winnipeg students will scale a 25-ton granite rock today as part of the 40th Annual Great Rock Climb.

From 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., three teams will race down the front lawn of Wesley Hall and scale the giant “Rock of Remembrance” that sits at the front of the campus.

Teams will attempt to break the 9.8-second record that has been in effect since 1979.

Spectators can watch the action on the front lawn of 515 Portage Avenue.
