Manitoba farmers will open up their gates to the public on Sunday for the second annual Open Farm Day.
The agricultural event was a hit last year, as more than 35 farmers allowed visitors to tour their operations, ask questions and get a sense of what rural life is really like.
This year, 44 destinations will keep Manitobans busy all across the province on September 18.
“Open Farm Day is a platform for farmers to tell their stories, sell their products and invite visitors to share in what farming is all about,” said agricultural minister Stan Struthers. “Our farmers contribute greatly to our provincial economy and it’s important that we all recognize this and also recognize where our food comes from.”
