The Forks is kicking off its annual push to collect new unwrapped toys for families in need this holiday season.
Forks Market tenants are challenging the public to contribute to the Castle of Toys in support of the Christmas Cheer Board.
“Last year, the castle was almost over flowing. By the time all of the toys were gathered up and sent to The Christmas Cheer Board there were over $15,500 worth of toys,” said Joyce Gittins, chair of The Forks Market Castle of Toys campaign. “This year we hope to fill the castle with over 500 items, making our contribution push beyond last year’s total and really raise the roof in order to help the children of Winnipeg enjoy a better Christmas.”
The campaign will get underway at 11 a.m. and run throughout the holidays.
