TELUS customers in select areas of Manitoba now have access to the network’s HSPA+ dual-cell wireless coverage.
The company activated new cell towers in Selkirk, Victoria Beach and Steinbach this week, increasing coverage in those communities, as well as in Lockport, Ste. Anne and along Highway 1 to Portage la Prairie. Full 4G coverage in Portage is expected in early 2012, with service to Brandon expected next summer.
TELUS previously announced a $22 million investment in Manitoba earlier this year to enhance its 4G coverage. The network’s 4G network now reaches 66 percent of Manitobans.
