The St. Boniface Hospital Foundation launched its largest lottery in history Thursday, with more than $2.7 million in prizes.

The 2012 Mega Million Choices Lottery will help fund life-changing medical research and patient care at St-Boniface Hospital, supporting initiatives in cardiac care, diabetes, cancer, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, and much more.

“This year, we’re taking the lottery to the next level. We are giving away a $1.2 million home or $1,025,000 in cash,” said John Graham, chair of the lottery.

Tickets sales for the lottery are now open starting at $100 for a single ticket. Three-packs are $250, and ticket purchasers can also buy a seven-pack of tickets for $500.

The grand prize and 50/50 prize draws will take place on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Grand Prize Show Home, located at 42 Cypress Ridge in Winnipeg. Other prizes include cars, electronics, and luxury vacations.
