The donation comes after Telus previously announced it would donate $25 on behalf of every new smartphone customer from March through May of last year.

“Their (Telus’) financial support will be making a significant difference in cancer care and treatment for children with cancer and their families,” said Annitta Stenning, executive director of the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. “We cannot do it alone, but together we can.”

Five-year pediatric cancer survival rates have risen to 82 percent, compared to 10 percent in the 1970s due to clinical trials.
