Humane Society Crowns First Dog Champion of the Year

Eight-year-old Christina Sudoma has been named Dog Champion of the Year by the Winnipeg Humane Society.

The first annual award recipient was chosen by prominent members of the rescue community. Sudoma won after receiving numerous nominations and was presented her award at McNally Robinson Grant Park by Hot 103’s Ace Burpee on Sunday.

The announcement was in conjunction with the “No Shelter Here” book launch with author Rob Laidlaw, who coined the term “Dog Champion” and has been an animal advocate for more than 30 years.
