The University of Winnipeg’s Summer in the City Basketball League will get underway this Sunday.
The program is open to boys and girls of all ages and provides inner-city youth with a safe place to go and pass time during the summer months.
The league will run from noon to 3 p.m. every Sunday until the end of August.
“Leagues like Summer in the City and the Heart of the City tournament we held earlier this year are key to developing meaningful programs for inner-city kids,” said Bob Axworthy, Inner-City Junior Wesmen volunteer coach and tournament organizer.
