The public will get a chance to see legendary Winnipeg filmmaker Guy Maddin in action this weekend.
Maddin will be filming part of his new project, “Seánces,” at the Winnipeg Art Gallery on Saturday during the opening of Nuit Blanche.
Maddin is one of the artists appearing in the exhibition Winnipeg Now, which has a free public opening on Saturday at 7 p.m.. It continues at the WAG until December 30.
Maddin will be filming at 10 p.m., 11 p.m., midnight and 1 a.m. Shooting on Sunday, September 30 and Thursday, October 4 will take place from 1-4 p.m. Maddin will also be filming on Friday, October 5 from 5-8 p.m.
Maddin’s work is part of an ongoing project of personal recovery and artistic reconstruction, in which he has been engaged for the last three years.
