Stony Mountain Ski Area will open its hill for the season on Saturday, December 1.
Temperatures have been favourable and there’s a base of 40 centimetres of snow for winter enthusiasts to enjoy.
With more snow in the forecast for later this week, the conditions are looking ideal for those hitting the slopes.
The ski hill, located 11 kilometres north of the Perimeter Highway on Highway 7, will operate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
At least two runs will definitely open and staff say as many of four could be a go for this weekend.
Up-to-date run conditions are available at SkiStony.com.
