It’s no surprise that the opening of Swedish furniture giant IKEA in Winnipeg last month garnered a plethora of media attention. The nearly 400,000-square-foot store on Sterling Lyon Parkway opened November 28 to major fanfare as shoppers rushed in to get their hands on moderately-priced home furnishings.
