A Manitoba RCMP officer has been placed on administrative duties after an alleged assault involving his common-law partner.
Police say the alleged assault on the woman took place in the evening of March 6 and into the next morning. While investigating, police became aware of another alleged assault dating back to February.
The 41-year-old officer was arrested on March 7 and released on a promise to appear in court next month. He faces two counts of assault and one count of uttering threats.
The victim wasn’t injured and didn’t require medical attention.
The officer’s name and jurisdiction where the incidents are said to have occurred aren’t being released to protect the victim’s identity.
