As bicycle season rolls around, the City of Winnipeg is preparing to unload hundreds of unclaimed bikes at its annual action.

On Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28, the public can visit the Varsity View Sportsplex at 4230 Ridgewood Avenue.

Approximately 450 bikes will be auctioned off on Saturday and 300 on Sunday. About 250 bikes have been tuned up by volunteer mechanics with the Winnipeg Repair Education and Cycling Hub (WRENCH).

Those who attend can also receive information on the city’s cycling network, commuter courses, proper helmet fitting and Winnipeg’s community bike shops.

Public viewing will be Saturday from 7-8:45 a.m. (auction at 9 a.m.) and Sunday from 10-11:45 a.m. (auction at noon).

All bicycles are sold as is, where is, and no warranty is given nor implied. Cash, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Interac payments will be accepted. Cheques will not be accepted.
