Udpate: Crash on Arlington Leaves One Man Dead

A man is dead after an early morning crash on Arlington Street Wednesday.

Winnipeg police closed Arlington Street between Inkster Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue after the crash, which happened on Arlington Street near Polson Avenue at about 1:55 a.m. Arlington Street was re-opened at 9 a.m.

Police said emergency responders took two people away in critical condition. The 45-year-old male passenger died in hospital, while the 30-year-old driver is in serious but stable condition.

Police said speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

Members of the central Traffic Unit are investigating.
