Pro skateboarder Tony Hawk will be in Winnipeg shortly as part of a new partnership with Sport Chek and Quiksilver.
The 45-year-old will be hosting a skateboard demo atop a halfpipe vertical ramp at the Sport Chek at Polo Park on Monday, July 15.
The 45-minute demo will include Lincoln Ueda, Mitchie Brusco, Kevin Staab, Lizzie Armanto and Elliot Sloan, with emcee Corbin Harris calling the shots. The first 75 attendees in-store will receive an original autograph from Tony Hawk.
“I’m excited to head up to Canada this month and join this new partnership announcement,” Hawk said. “Canadians are passionate about skateboarding and I can’t wait to perform for them first-hand. Our crew is going to put on an exciting show for everybody.”
The free event will begin with an autograph session at 1:45 p.m., followed by the exhibition at 3 p.m.
