Single day tickets for the second annual Winnipeg BBQ and Blues Festival go on sale today.
From August 16-18, the smell of barbeque greatness will permeate Red River Exhibition Park as grill masters hone their meat-cooking skills over a hot flame.
More than 100 tricked-out big rig grills will be featured at the House of Chrome Show and Shine, as the best blues music from across North America fills the air.
Jake Brakes and Monkeyjunk will get things underway Friday night, as Wide Mouth Mason headlines Saturday, along with Ana Popovic, 2 Fools on Stools featuring Gordie Johnson as well as the Golden State Lone Star Revue featuring Little Charlie Baty, Anson Funderburgh and Mark Hummel.
Sunday morning kicks off with a gospel brunch featuring The Sojourners, a variety of artists throughout the day and ending with Winnipeg BBQ and Blues ambassador Big Dave McLean and feature performer David Wilcox.
Back on the food side of things, a $10,000 cash purse will be up for grabs for the Pit Masters Championship over the weekend.
Single day passes go on sale today for $25 per day. Early bird ticket packages are available until August 1 for $39.50. The package includes admission for the entire weekend, plus admission to the Meat Ball Social on Friday night.
