Woman Charged in Fatal Crash North of Winnipeg

RCMP Crest LogoA 20-year-old Winnipeg man has died following a single-vehicle crash just north of the city.

The rollover happened at around 4 a.m. Saturday in the 3700 block of Henderson Highway when the northbound vehicle lost control and hit the ditch.

RCMP say the 19-year-old Winnipeg woman driving the car, along with a female passenger, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The 20-year-old perished in the crash and isn’t being named by police.

The driver was released from hospital and has been charged with impaired driving causing death and refusing to provide a breath sample.

RCMP say the deceased was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Police continue to investigate.
