An extreme winter challenge will see competitors overcome all sorts of hurdles and obstacles in the annual Ice Donkey Winter Adventure 5km Obstacle Challenge.
Adventure-seekers will compete on snowy and icy Winnipeg terrain on Saturday, February 8 on the grounds of the University of Manitoba. Racers will take off in heats every 30 minutes to pit themselves against the course, with competitors running solo or in teams of any size encouraged to get creative in costume.
Organizers expect up to 700 racers to have completed the course by the end of the day.
“The great thing about this race is that we’ll have the competitive racer that has trained for it, and the weekend warrior just out to have fun,” said race director John Ford.
Racers will also be fundraising in support of the United Way of Winnipeg.
Registration per racer is $59 until January 10 and $69 from January 11 to February 2.
