Target will continue its push into Canada this year by adding nine more locations to the 124 stores it already operates nationwide.

The majority of the new stores will open in Ontario, with single store additions planned for Quebec, Manitoba, Alberta and B.C. In total, new stores will open in all 10 provinces.

“The past year marked a major milestone for Target as we delivered on the unprecedented goal of opening 124 Target stores across ten provinces in 2013,” said Tony Fisher, president of Target Canada. “As we head into 2014, we will continue to enhance the guest experience at all stores, while continuing to expand our presence in new Canadian neighbourhoods.”

Target’s newest Winnipeg location will be at Polo Park on the site of the former Canad Inns Stadium. Construction is expected to be completed by the fall.
