Jets Players to Visit Schools for ‘I Love to Read Month’

By Brian Schultz

Winnipeg Jets LogoWinnipeg Jets players are going back to school in honour of I Love to Read Month, where members of the team will read to various schools in the city on February 25.

Players will be reading the official Winnipeg Jets children’s storybook, “The Home Team,” to classes of students from grades 1 to 6.

Schools can throw their name in the mix for the consideration of a Jets player to read to their class by explaining in 300 words of less why their school would like to host a member of the team. Submissions are being accepted until Friday, February 14 at WinnipegJets.com. The winning schools will be contacted on February 17.

In addition to the visit, each player will donate their Jets jersey to the winning classroom, as well as numerous Jets themed prizes. There will also be a short autograph session for the students involved.
