Here’s a list of what’s open and closed throughout the city during the holiday season.

Manitoba Museum
Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until January 4, excluding Christmas Day (closed).
Christmas Eve hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Assiniboine Park Zoo
Open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Christmas Eve (December 24) — 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Christmas Day (December 25) — Closed
New Year’s Eve (December 31) — 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Children 12 and under are free until January 4.

Canadian Museum for Human Rights

Wednesday, December 24 — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday, December 25 — Closed
Friday, December 26 — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wednesday, December 31 — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

City of Winnipeg
Civic offices will be closed at noon on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 (Christmas Eve), closed on Thursday, December 25, 2014 (Christmas Day), and closed on Friday, December 26, 2014 (Boxing Day). Civic offices will also be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2015 (New Year’s Day).

Recycling/Garbage Collection
Recycling and garbage collection service will run as as usual on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. No recycling and garbage collection service on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Brady Road Resource Management Facility (Brady Road Landfill)
Changes to the regular hours of operation during the holidays include:

Thursday, December 25 — Closed
Friday, December 27 — 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, December 26 — 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Thursday, January 1 — Closed
Saturday, January 3 — 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Let’s Chip In Christmas Tree Recycling Depots
Residents can recycle their real Christmas trees by dropping them off at any of the 11 Let’s Chip In depots, open from December 27, 2014, to January 20, 2015. Please remove all plastic tree bags, tinsel, decorations, and tree stands when dropping off your tree. Free wood chips will be available at all depots in early January (while quantities last). Please bring your own container to collect chips.

Winnipeg Transit
Winnipeg Transit will be operating on a Sunday schedule on:

Leisure Centres
Wednesday, December 24 — All Leisure Centres will close at 12 noon except St. James Civic Center. St. James Civic Centre is open until 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday, December 31 — All Leisure Centres are closed except for Fort Rouge Leisure Centre and St. James Civic Centre. Fort Rouge and St. James Civic Centres are open from 6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Thursday, January 1 — All Leisure Centres closed
Regular hours resume Friday, January 2, 2015

Swimming Pools
Wednesday, December 24 — All pools and fitness facilities scheduled to be open will close at 12 noon. Please call 311 for locations and swimming times for that day.
Thursday, December 25 — All pools and fitness facilities will be closed
Friday, December 26 — All pools and fitness facilities will be closed
Saturday, December 27 to Tuesday, December 30 — Regular hours.
Wednesday, December 31 — All pools and fitness facilities scheduled to be open will close at 4:00 p.m.

Cemetery offices will be open until 3:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and closed on December 25 and 26, and January 1.
