Child Critically Injured in Sage Creek Crash Involving Semi

Winnipeg Police CrestA 10-year-old boy was taken to hospital in critical condition Thursday night after a crash involving a Jeep Wrangler and a semi-trailer truck.

The crash happened on Lagimodiere Boulevard at Sage Creek Boulevard just south of Bishop Grandin at around 7:30 p.m.

Winnipeg police say the Jeep was travelling southbound and attempted to turn east into the Sage Creek development when the semi collided with the passenger side of the vehicle. The semi hit the ditch as a result of the crash.

An off-duty police officer and other witnesses attended to the victims.

The 45-year-old man driving the Jeep suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The 57-year-old man driving the semi wasn’t injured.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
