A non-traditional ribbon — or rather toilet paper — cutting officially opens the new washrooms at the St. Norbert Farmers’ Market on Saturday.
A reclaimed shipping container has been transitioned by PSA Studio into functioning washroom facilities, built by Gardon Construction. A second container meant for storage will be delivered in the near future.
Funding for the project came through the Winnipeg Community Infrastructure Program and market itself.
The toilet paper cutting will be held at noon with MLA Dave Gaudreau, new Liberal MP Terry Duguid, St. Norbert councillor Janice Lukes.
October 24 also marks the second last Saturday of the market for the season.
