It’s the 11th consecutive year the Bisons are helping out at the Winnipeg homeless shelter for the holiday season.
Athletes from all Bisons teams are doing their part, including serving meals, sorting donations and working in the kitchen.
“Volunteering within and around our community is so valued by all of our Bison student-athletes and Siloam Mission offers a wonderful program that allows us to give back,” said Caleigh Dobie, a fourth-year women’s volleyball player.
The initiative was originally started in 2005 by former Bison women’s volleyball player Lindsay Poggemiller-Smith, who is still involved with the shelter today.
