City of Winnipeg Civic Offices:

Closed at noon on Thursday, December 24 and all day on December 25, December 28 and January 1.

Recycling/Garbage Collection:

All customers (single-family homes, apartments, businesses) will have recycling and garbage collection as usual on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. No pickup will be made on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day. Residents with pickup on Friday, December 25 will move to Saturday, December 26. Those with pickup on Friday, January 1 will move to Saturday, January 2.

Brady Road Landfill:

December 25 — Closed
December 26 — 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
January 1 — closed
January 2 — 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Let’s Chip In Christmas Tree Recycling Depots:

Residents can recycle their real Christmas trees by dropping them off at any of the 11 Let’s Chip In depots, open from December 27 to January 20, 2016. Please remove all plastic tree bags, tinsel, decorations, and tree stands. Free wood chips will be available at all depots in early January (while quantities last). Please bring your own container.

Trees placed beside recycling or garbage carts will not be collected.

Winnipeg Transit:

Winnipeg Transit will be operating on a Sunday schedule on:

· Friday, December 25
· Saturday, December 26
· Friday, January 1

Free rides will be provided on New Year’s Eve, with the last bus leaving down at around 1:38 a.m.

Leisure Centres:

Thursday, December 24 — All Leisure Centres will close at noon; except Fort Rouge Leisure Centre remaining open until 4:30 p.m.
Friday, December 25 — Closed
Saturday, December 26 –Closed
Thursday, December 31 — Closed except:
Fort Rouge Leisure Centre is open from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.;
St. James Civic Centre is open from 6 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and
Freight House is open from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
