WINNIPEG — The tenants of the $400 million True North Square will be unveiled Wednesday morning.
True North Sports and Entertainment has called a news conference to announce the project’s partners and lead tenants.
The downtown development will include retail, office and residential spaces, as well as a hotel. Space will also cater to outdoor concerts, Winnipeg Jets game day parties, a casual ice rink, Christmas village, ice bar, food truck festival, two curling lanes, outdoor movies, and sand volleyball.
“True North Square is an ambitious and visionary mixed-use development in the heart of Winnipeg’s Sports, Hospitality and Entertainment District,” said True North executive chairman Mark Chipman in January.
The project adjacent to MTS Centre is also receiving a combined $17.6 million from the city and province through tax increment financing.
Construction is expected to be completed by mid-2018.
