The Manitoba Museum is the latest business to hop on board with Winnipeg-based rewards app The Local Frequency.
The app rewards consumers with points at a number of local retailers when they pay by debit or cash. Three percent in ‘local points’ are then loaded back onto the app for use during a future visit.
“The museum shares Manitoba’s stories and our shop features many Manitoba-made products — becoming part of this ‘shop local’ initiative is a perfect fit for us,” said Claudette Leclerc, executive director of the Manitoba Museum.
“With a tap of a button, users can bring up a whole list of proven Manitoba-based businesses that now includes the museum.”
The app is operated and was designed by Winnipeg-based company Protegra. It’s available as a free download for iPhone and Android devices.
