Pepper-Spray Free-For-All Hits Cadets, Teen and 21-Year-Old Man

Winnipeg Police CrestIt was a pepper-spray-melee that saw two Winnipeg Police cadets, a teen and another man all hit with the noxious substance.

Police said the fight began at The Forks’ skatepark Monday evening, when a 21-year-old man confronted a 17-year-old about his behaviour. The 17-year-old responded by whipping out a can of pepper spray and attacking the man.

The teen fled, only to be chased by the man’s friends. The teen tried to spray the people in pursuit, but missed.

The teen was chased into the arms of two WPS cadets, who started to take him into custody, only to be pepper sprayed themselves. But this time, it was by the 17-year-old’s friend, a 16-year-old male.

The two teens managed to escape but were chased down by witnesses and off-duty cops in the area.

Both teens were arrested and charged with numerous offenses.
