Winnipeg Man Charged in Historic Sexual Assaults

Winnipeg Police CrestA 54-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged following alleged sexual assaults of two children between 1994 and 2007.

Police say the man had regular contact with the children, who were between the ages of four and 14 at the time.

The first victim, between the ages of four and nine, was shown pornographic material, inappropriately touched and sexually assaulted from 1994 to 1999.

The second victim, between the ages of four and 13, was sexually assaulted from 1998 and 2007. The suspect also exposed himself to the child during this period.

The victims recently came forward to police and an investigation was launched.

Mike John Zoldy was arrested on Wednesday and has been charged with multiple sexual assault-related offences.

He remains in custody.
