Information Night Tackles Threat of Gang Violence in Winnipeg Communities

Winnipeg Police CrestA campaign to stop the threat of gang violence in Winnipeg neighbourhoods will spark discussion tonight.

Winnipeg police are hosting Gang Awareness Information Night in partnership with the province and Winnipeg Crime Stoppers.

Posters will go up in city schools, community centres and various other locations to deter and reduce gang-related activities in communities.

The public is being invited to learn how they can stop the threat of gangs by attending the information session from 6-8 p.m. at the North Centennial Community Centre, 90 Sinclair Street.

Anyone with information on suspected gangs or related activity can report it anonymously by calling (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
