Winnipeg’s water taxi is making a splash this weekend.
The River Spirit Water Bus will launch for the season on Saturday, operating from The Forks and servicing five stops throughout the downtown.
“It’s time to skip the traffic jams and enjoy the sights while aboard the River Spirit Water Bus,” said Paul Jordan, CEO of The Forks North Portage Partnership.
“We’re excited the water levels have cooperated and we’re able to offer this service again. It’s a great way to bridge communities while showing a different perspective of Winnipeg.”
The water bus will operate Monday to Thursday from noon to 9 p.m. and Friday to Sunday from noon until 11 p.m.
Reservations are not required and the service will run every 15 minutes along the Red and Assiniboine rivers.
Docks include: Hugo, the Manitoba Legislative Building, The Forks, Norwood Grove and the Exchange District.
Fares are $3.50 one-way or $20 for an unlimited day pass. Children three and under are free.
