Winnipeg’s top chefs are about to whip up their own delicious interpretations of a Canadian favourite — poutine.
The third annual Poutine Cup (because what else would you call it?) is Wednesday, September 28 at Fort Gibraltar.
“This event has all the necessary ingredients food, friends and the Fort. For this event, Fort Gibraltar is the natural backdrop to share fun and poutine with 500 people that are soon to be friends,” said Connie McKane-Brandson, one of the organizers.
It only took 12 minutes for the 300 available tickets to sell out. Those unlucky enough to snag some will have another opportunity at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, when 200 more go on sale — albeit at an increased price.
“The chefs really get creative and their poutine dishes, each with their own flair, are exceptional,” added Shawn Brandson.
Ten Winnipeg chefs will compete while guests sample unlimited poutine, enjoy a beer tasting, a sample cocktail, and then vote for their favourite poutine.
