Bison Football on Bye Week, Hockey Team Recruits Six Players
After coming off their first win of the season, the Manitoba Bisons Football team is on a bye week as they prepare for the Alberta Golden Bears. The Bisons will host the Bears on Saturday, October 3 at University Stadium. Even though the team may not be on the field, head coach Brian Dobie and the other coaches are in scouting mode, as they visit numerous high schools in the city later tonight.
Moving on to hockey, Manitoba Bison women’s head coach Jon Rempel recently recruited six players for the upcoming 2009-10 season. Each player brings unique value to the team, but as for one promising recruit, Rempel sees a lot of potential in Caitlin MacDonald, 17, who was a defenseman with the Balmoral Hall Blazers.
