Mike Kelly Explodes on CJOB (AUDIO)
Blue Bomber head coach Mike Kelly was none too pleased with the comments made on CJOB’s post-game show Sunday afternoon after the team’s 48-13 loss to Montreal.
Speaking with Bob Irving, Kelly said it was “media bulls**t” to suggest that the team wasn’t focused during the game. He then abruptly ended the interview and handed the phone to the team’s media relations and communications coordinator Darren Cameron.

UPDATE: Mike Kelly has been fined $2,000 by the CFL for his outburst.

Once an idiot, always an idiot. I’m sorry, but being a head coach is more than just dealing with your team. Kelly doesn’t seem to agree.
The Blue Bombers, if they wish to remain on the Kelly route, have got to send him to the U of W’s Public Relations night classes. Dealing with media, is not just 1% of the head coaches job… it’s like 30 percent, a significant amount… and he’s got to learn.

Not only does he mishandle the media, its also the fans he does’nt like to or feels he has to deal with. As a head coach you have to deal with all aspects of the game!!! If he just wants to worry about the “team” he should go back to being just an O.C. He reminds me of a scared bully, someone who will push his weight around and when someone starts to push back he starts moaning and wimpering and stomps off saying “I’m telling my mommy!” lol
A true coach would say sorry, suck it up and try to fix what ever is broken, When his way is’nt working, be open for suggestions from the fans and media and actually try to implement them to see if something works. Mike has to get that chip off of his shoulder. I think the only thing thats saving him so far is that we can’t afford to pay 3 head coach salleries, as we’re still paying Berry’s. It truly is amazing what an ego can do to a person.

WHAT a friggin IDIOT Mike Kelly is. Well, at least now ALL, Bomber Fans, media, and everything and everyone in Bomberville can not rest in oeace, because, Kelly is NOW GONESVILLE.
Looks like for his IDIOTIC move of violence of his former girlfriend could possible land him in jail behind bars, where he belongs.
Unfortunately, it took the loss of former Bomber great, Lyle Bauer to get rid of Kelly, but something tells me, that Mr. Bauer had seen something coming, with the way Mike Kelly was acting.
Oh well, let’s all wish Mr. Bauer and his family all the very best, and thank him for the great job that he had done for Bombers during his 10 year tenure with Bombers. I think that is how Lyle Bauer would want ALL of us to remember him for, for his greatness with Bombers.

I wonder how much CJOB is paying the Bombers to be the team broadcaster? And they get this in return? Ouch. I’ve had my moments with this man, and he’s everything you would expect. I leave it at that.

Mike Kelly is a douchebag, he acts like this and yet he wonders why the city doesn’t embrace him. His act has wore thin. He tries act all coy with the media and he tried to make himself look real smooth with all his antics with the media earlier in the season but now it’s just one thing after another with him.

I agree,totally unprofessional, inexcusable behaviour from Mike Kelly.
“Shut up, stop asking me questions, and give me another week to turn this around” is not effective media relations, Mr. Kelly. Especially when you’re talking to your football club’s official radio carrier.

Blue Bombers = a joke. Moreso every year they play at that rusty, concrete cage known as “Canad Inns Stadium” and fail to win a Grey Cup
Why do so many Winnipegger’s continue to spend (waste) their free time with this sorry franchise?!

as if everyone is so down on this guy, this city is terrible with its sports, when they are doing good everyone is quiet, the second something goes wrong they want to bash someone… no wonder he is defensive.

Can’t agree with you there AlfRules… The recent Grey Cup run vs Regina had this city on fire… everyone was excited, all flights to Toronto were booked, people were even talking excitedly about the MB Bison’s and their Vanier Cup… it was one of the highest attended Vanier Cups in History… Quiet… No, I don’t think so… And people don’t mind things going wrong as long as you are man enough to admit your mistakes and not throw up a wall and blame everyone else.

Yeah we should give them a brand new 300 million dollar stadium for this piece of s*** product they put on the field. For 9 home games a year. Nothing is wrong with Canad Inns stadium, it’s a little dated but cmon this is the CFL not the big show. Maybe when this team shows some consistency on the field, and things get straightened out off the field they can put plans in place for a stadium. But with ownership up in the air nothing is going to get built.
