Zellers Hiding Olympic Merchandise “At the Back”

The Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games are just a few months away, but if you want to pick up some apparel, it’s more like a game of hide and seek at some Winnipeg Zellers stores.
A reader snapped the above pic showing directions to the Olympic merchandise, which can be found at the back of the HBC-owned store. We’re also told it’s hidden behind some other racks of clothes and not immediately visible.
With HBC being the premiere merchandiser for winter Olympic apparel, shouldn’t this stuff be on a big display rack at the front of the store?
A store spokesperson didn’t respond to a request for comment.

With Halloween just finishing, there’s a possibility that the merchandise was moved to make way for costumes, candy etc. Once the clearance sale is over, it may be moved back?
Just a thought.
Besides, it’s not like zellers is a hub for fashion mavens. Who wears Olympic gear, anyway?

I went to go look for the hoodies and found them at the back of the store across from the children’s cribs. It was pretty sad.

Just like milk in the grocery store. People have to walk deep into the store to get to the good stuff. Having the olympic gear at the front door would be a waste.

yup, the tribual game. The economy is dead but STILL we stare at the games. which tribe wins, put all owr tax money into distraction and diversion. If the economy is SO bad then cancel the frackin games

Are we sure Zellers can actually sell this stuff? In Mexico, stuff located “in the back” is usually trouble.
And that sign is pathetic, looks like something a clerk quickly whips up when they need to close the store and run out for lunch.
