Workers with Merit Iron were busy Sunday morning as they put an 80-foot steel truss into place connecting the Convention Centre skywalk over the Japanese Gardens west of the Delta Winnipeg Hotel at St. Mary Avenue and Carlton Street.

This is the final phase and the biggest section to be installed of the weather-protected walkway, which will eventually connect to City Place. The rest of the sections will be installed over the span of the next eight days.
