Rogers Finally Confirms iPhone in Canada
Rogers Communications announced today that they have reached a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone to Canada. “We’re thrilled to announce that we have a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone to Canada later this year,” said president Ted Rogers in a brief statement. “We can’t tell you any more about it right now, but stay tuned.”
Given the reputation wireless companies have in Canada for overcharging customers on their data plans and not providing Wi-Fi service, many are skeptical over what kind of data usage will be available for the iPhone. While U.S. customers enjoy unlimited data, that likely won’t be the case here once the iPhone debuts north of the border.
As far as specific hardware goes, it’s rumoured that the 3GB iPhone will be what Rogers chooses to add to its network for customers.
