United Way Reaches 2009 Campaign Goal

The United Way of Winnipeg unveiled Thursday how much money was raised as part of their 2009 fundraising campaign.
The organization said earlier in the week they were within $200,000 of what is needed to maintain a stable network of essential programs and services for the coming year.
In September, the lofty goal of $18,218,778 was announced, but 39% of that goal had already been raised at the time.
Campaign chair Jeff Zabudsky announced the final number this morning at Portage Place Shopping Centre surrounded by hundreds of volunteers and staff.
The United Way successfully reached its goal in raising $18.2 million.

Zabudsky was on CJOB yesterday and said they are about $100,000 short. Still a big accomplishment given the amount they raised in such a short period. Kudos.
