UFC Fighter Slams Canadian Health Care; Treated in Manitoba
Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Brock Lesnar is not a fan of the health care in our country, particularly in Manitoba, after being admitted to hospital in November with a mystery illness.
In an interview with ESPN on Wednesday, Lesnar compared the care he received to that of a “Third World country.” He then turned political and opposed President Barack Obama’s plan to “socialize” medicine, if it means becoming similar to the Canadian system.
Lesnar did not specify which hospital, or even the province he was in when he turned ill, but sources in Westman told us it was definitely Brandon Regional Health Centre.
Lesnar said his wife saved his life by getting him out of the hospital and taking him back to the U.S., where he was later treated in Bismarck, North Dakota, before receiving treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.
The full interview is available on YouTube.
Lesnar has since recovered from whatever illness he was suffering from and says he’ll be back fighting again soon.

He was 100% guaranteed to be in Brandon. He was here visiting family in Kola Manitoba at the time.

Then don’t come here. He is a terrible UFC Fighter. I think next time he needs treatment, or opens his nasty mouth he should first go to Haiti, a real 3rd world country, and get medical treatment. Just because he can afford to pay $150,000 for monitoring in some pay-for-care system doesn’t mean everyone should re-mortgage their homes to get some sort of medical care.

Health care for him in the US is great because hes got money and is..well sorta of famous anyways. And shit if i was sick..really sick i wouldn’t go to Brandon hospital. Thats like saying i was in the USA and went to some small city with a population of 5,000 and had shitty healthcare. Well no shit it was bad..if it was thats a tiny town with limited resources. What an asshole!!!

I think our health care is decent, but don’t fool yourself into thinking it’s free or even cheep. If you pay no taxes, then it’s a good price. If you are a working stiff like me makeing 50gs or less, most of your income tax goes to health care wheather you receive any or not.Multiply that times every Canadian paying tax and than ask someone paying a average of 5,000 a year x 45 years = 225,000,00 why they are waiting years for a hip replacement. We are way behind in are medical practice in my opinion. “WE PAY MORE” thanx.
