It was a wild day for weather in southern Manitoba Monday. Parts of the province took quite the beating as a sudden winter wallop gave students in rural areas the day off school, and made driving anywhere outside the city nothing less than a challenge.

People had their cell phones close by and e-mailed in some pics. Some of these were also found on Twitter during the early morning commute. We even included some stills from CBC’s cameras to show road conditions and lack of traffic.
