Monday’s Blizzard News Roundup
Did Global TV and CBC wait for the storm to pass Monday before doing their stand ups? Lightweights.

Who had the best storm coverage? It’s negligible, but CTV’s Jill Macyshon pulled a CNN and faced the elements head on.
If it counts, Waub Rice picked up a shovel at one point, but we didn’t see him use it. Guess that’s good enough for second place.
Crystal Goomansingh — Global’s national correspondent — had her story on the local news, which in itself, makes you pay attention.
In the end, they all did good. A new local celebrity was even crowned, only if he did just sit in his car all day.

FYI…Jill Mac is also a national correspondent. So I think that makes their coverage a double hitter.

That deserves a mention, too.

I thought Crystal was Global’s national health reporter.. no?
Cuz I don’t understand why a specific-beat person is doing a story about the storm.. unless her angle was heart attacks and shoveling.
One of the pitfalls of assigning a title like that to a reporter.. what are they doing presenting something outside their area of ‘expertise’ ?
