A barn fire in rural Manitoba has claimed the lives of 150 hogs.

RCMP responded to the fire on Thursday at about 10:45 a.m. on Road 20 North in the RM of Hanover.

The barn contained approximately 1,600 hogs, the majority of which were rescued.

The estimated loss is pegged at $325,000.

The Office of the Fire Commissioner continues to investigate.

The fire is not considered suspicious in nature.
